Bird City (“the Game”, “we”, “us”) is a multiplayer browser and mobile game. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Bird name — the display name you type on the join screen. Stored on our server so others can see it on the leaderboard.
- Game progress — level, XP, coins, purchased skills, poops, steals, wins. Stored server-side so progress persists across devices.
- Persistent bird ID — a random identifier generated on your device and saved to browser
localStorage (or equivalent on mobile) so you can rejoin as the same bird.
- Purchase records — which coin packs you bought, when, and which platform processed the payment. Payment card details are handled by Stripe, Apple, or Google — we never see them.
- Connection metadata — IP address and connection events while you are playing. Used for moderation and anti-abuse; automatically rotated out of logs within 30 days.
What we do NOT collect
- Location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone — no permissions requested.
- Email address, phone number, or real name — unless you voluntarily email support.
- Cross-app tracking identifiers (IDFA, AAID). We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- Third-party advertising SDKs. There are no ads in Bird City.
Third parties
The Game uses the following service providers. Each receives only the data needed to do their job:
- Google Firebase / Firestore — stores your bird record and game progress.
- Google Cloud Run — hosts the Bird City server.
- Stripe — processes coin-pack purchases made on the web version.
- Apple In-App Purchase / Google Play Billing — processes coin-pack purchases in the iOS and Android apps.
- RevenueCat — verifies mobile purchase receipts on our behalf.
Children
Bird City is rated 13+ (iOS) and the equivalent age tier on Google Play. It contains frequent cartoon violence and infrequent crude humor. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent believes a child has provided such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
- Delete your account — open the Settings menu in the Game and tap “Delete Account”. This permanently removes your bird, progress, and associated records from our servers.
- Export your data — email us and we will send you a copy of the data associated with your bird ID within 30 days.
- Refunds — coin-pack purchases made in the Apple App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google, not by us. Web purchases made via Stripe can be refunded by contacting support.
Data retention
Your bird record lives on our servers for as long as the account is active. Deleting your account removes it within 7 days. Backups containing your record are fully purged within 90 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date above and — for material changes — post a notice on the join screen. Continued play after a change means acceptance of the new policy.
